BIO-key International has revealed that hospitals in New York, Ohio, Kentucky and California have made initial purchase orders for the firm's fingerprint authentication solutions.The firm's fingerprint systems are designed to improve security and convenience for healthcare providers when updating patient records and processing prescriptions.While the orders have a combined value of $130,000, the contracts will represent over $400,000 in revenue in 2015 as full roll-outs are completed, says BIO-key.”These hospital deployments are the beginning results of our strategic efforts in the North American healthcare market,” said Mike DePasquale, BIO-key's chairman and CEO.”We're finding that our hospital customer CIO's face three primary challenges; security, workflow and compliance ߪ We deliver measurable improvements in each area and are seeing a noticeable increase in healthcare demand, measured in both opportunity solicitations and gross monetary value,” said DePasquale.Last September, BIO-key International reported that it was also now providing fingerprint authentication solutions for 57 eye care centers throughout the US.
