A finTech startup based in Hong Kong called Neat is launching a new mobile payments service that uses face recognition for authentication.The Neat solution features an app and payment card will use facial recognition technology to confirm the holder's Hong Kong identification card is correct.Neat will be compatible with Apple Pay and Android Pay, and it plans to launch to beta users in the second quarter of this year.The monetisation model involves taking a cut of the fee charged by merchants to process the transaction as well collecting and analysing data for brands.The card will also the ability to be “switched off” if it has been misplaced before reporting it lost or to turn the online shopping ability on or off at will.
