Starting in Puerto Rico, registered healthcare patients will have better access to their private health information thanks to Health Gorilla, a health information network, teaming up with CLEAR to embed POWERED identity verification technology into a targeted health exchange portal.
In a release, Clear stated that the partnership is expected to expand to other regions in helping to close the current disconnect between adoption of digital health and healthcare exchange systems and achieving interoperability between medical community, organisations and patients.
Clear’s verification features create friction-free verification experiences for regulated environments. Clear is perfectly positioned to partner with the healthcare industry to manage identity verification within seconds and seamlessly integrate within users experiences of accessing their data.
“The partnership with CLEAR is an important step in our mission to provide consumers with greater control over their healthcare data,” said Steve Yaskin, CEO of Health Gorilla. “We believe that giving consumers easy and secure access to their medical records is key to improving healthcare outcomes and experiences. We are excited to partner with CLEAR to make Individual Access Services (IAS) a reality for the people of Puerto Rico and beyond.”
“Enabling Puerto Rico citizens to access their own health information through this partnership is very exciting,” said Alexander Quevedo, State HIT Coordinator at Puerto Rico Department of Health. “It will give patients more agency and empower them with data at their fingertips.”
Healthcare IT, integrated with digital identity verification and privacy capabilities, offers long-term benefits to improve patient care, data transparency, treatment and timely diagnosis. The network interoperability provider’s drive is shared by more than half (55%) of healthcare professionals who support widespread data sharing practices.
