A league of countries spanning Latin America and the Caribbean will deepen their partnership with the European Union to forge the EU–LAC Digital Alliance catering for a cooperative approach to levelling up the digital agenda across infrastructure, connectivity, technology, digital trade, public services and many more digital facets of economies.

Formed on foundational values, the alliance will include the participation of stakeholders such as the private sector, research and academic agencies as well as national governments, the European Union members states and their development agencies.

The scope of digital interests will include data governance and protection with the emergence of AI and digital identity, electronic signatures and cybersecurity. The alliance will develop a bi-regional investment agenda to underpin digital prosperity
