Elyctis has introduced the ID TAB – 9" series, a new tablet dedicated to verifying ID documents on the move. The company claims the ID TAB – 9" series brings convenience to all situations where governments and private entities have to read ePassports, ID cards and other types of ID documents.It says the tablet is the perfect fit for both the public and private sectors. Governments can use it for a variety of uses, including border control, to read driving licences, and to verify ID documents, including when they're issued. Private entities can use the ID TAB for applications such as banking Know Your Customer (KYC) records, mobile check-in and SIM registration.The device has a movementless scanner, which enables a user to read the machine- readable zone (MRZ) of an ePassport or an ID card in a single step.The company says the ID TAB – 9" series, natively equipped with 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and an 8 Mp camera, is modular to satisfy all needs for ID verification. The tablet body can include two modules, enabling it to support a variety of features such as MRZ and RFID reading, contact and contactless smart card, security modules, biometrics, magstripe and 1D/2D barcode.Two extension modules are already available for the series:• module 321 includes RFID reading along with the Elyctis movementless MRZ scanner• module 331 includes two ID-1 format slots and a SIM format security module.Alexandre Joly, CEO of Elyctis, says: "In every ID document control application, there is now a requirement for mobility: the ID TAB is the perfect solution for all government and private needs, and it will allow them to deliver a better and more flexible service to all citizens."
