The municipality of Rijswijk has successfully piloted a proof of birth credential in the EUDI Wallet, testing the connection between the wallet and the Once-Only Technical System.
In collaboration, Dutch municipalities and stakeholders made a breakthrough during a recent Hackathon to advance digital identity infrastructure by creating a synergy between the Once-Only Technical System in the Netherlands and the municipal administration. The test birth data attestation meets the stringent requirements of the eIDAS regulation, meaning it must provide specific birth identity and verification as a qualified trust service provider within the EU. Rijswijk facilitated the birth credential integration using Cleverbase trust services.
This milestone was accomplished as part of the Uniforme Bronontsluiting (Uniform Source Connection) project, which is helping public authorities meets the legal obligations to deliver digital ID through a singular connection.
Integrating with existing channels, municipalities achieve the integration of source data into EUDI wallets, as mandated by law, and achieve electronic attestation of identity attributes.
This breakthrough allows municipalities to efficiently meet legal obligations by securely providing verified identity data, such as birth certificates.
