Executives have met to discuss the integration of one of Papua New Guinea’s largest superannuation funds with the SevisPNG infrastructure, including the SevisPass digital ID and SevisWallet.

The DICT signed a Memorandum of Understanding agreement with NASFUND extending financial inclusion for underserved users of SevisPass and facilitating superannuation contributions.

Nambawan Super Limited visited the DICT office to discuss potential ways to digitalise member identification.

DIST Secretary Mr Steven Matainaho has explained that the SevisWallet app as Digital Public Infrastructure offers to broaden the access to financial and government services, digital identity services, and streamlines customer onboarding through eKYC processes.

According to SevisPNG & DPI Program Lead, Mr Jessy Sekere, the Department acknowledges three legal identities, including passport, National ID, and driver’s license, which when integrated into SevisPass allow users to upgrade Tier 2 verification.

SevisWallet will store NASFUND’s digital membership cards, enabling secure QR code and NFC-enabled transactions.
