South Korean biometrics firm CrucialTec has confirmed that it supplied a side-on fingerprint sensor solution for Sony's flagship Xperia smartphones.CrucialTec's Biometric TrackPad has been integrated into the power button placed on the right-hand side of Sony's Xperia Z5, mid-range Z5 Compact and phablet-sized Z5 Premium.Biometric TrackPad(BTP) is a fingerprint recognition sensor function which CrucialTec Optical Trackpad(OTP) technologies.A CrucialTec official told the Korea Herald that the adoption of the BTP by Sony, one of the world's leading electronics-makers, proves the superiority of CrucialTec's biometric technology.Other smartphones to be showcased at this year's IFA Summit in Berlin this week will be fitted with fingerprint scanners that use e CrucialTec's biometric technology, according to the Korean firm.
