The Ministry of Public Security in Burundi has reported that 20,000 people have already registered for a new biometric driving licence.The ministry made the announcement as part of a campaign to ensure the public register for the new licence before a deadline of 29 November.The application process takes just 48 hours, said officials, noting "We have opened 10 offices to easily welcome 500 persons a day".The African country has been fore-runner in launching an ePassport.
