Aware, a leader in biometric identity and authentication solutions, has achieved a strong performance in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Remote Identity Validation Rally (RIVR) Track 3.
Awarded this ranking, Aware demonstrates a proficiency in liveness detection and critically verifying that a real human is present in digital interactions whilst testing under real-world conditions. Attacks are so commonplace and wide-ranging depending on different vulnerabilities that hackers exploit, which means companies need to be vigilant and aware of a preventive approach but also managing to be resilient when a crisis is emerging.
Testing in programmes is essential to understanding how solutions perform against modern attack techniques as the threat landscape is ever present.
Aware Intelligent Liveness is designed to meet this challenge by combining the security and accuracy of active liveness detection with the speed and low-friction experience of passive approaches, enabling organisations to deliver both strong protection and seamless user experiences.
Aware Intelligent Liveness was evaluated under alias A1 and P2 at the Maryland Test Facility under realistic threat scenarios. The lab performs biometric testing for DHS, who collaborated with the Transportation Security Administration and NIST on the RIVR programme.
In the active liveness evaluation, using live human participants, Aware demonstrated strong results, achieving zero successful attacks.
“Programs like the DHS Remote Identity Validation Rally are essential to advancing trust in digital identity,” said Ajay Amlani, CEO of Aware. “By testing active liveness technologies against real-world attack scenarios, including those involving live human participants, DHS is helping raise the bar for the entire industry. These results reinforce our belief that organizations shouldn’t have to choose between strong security and a seamless user experience.”
