The Austrian State Printing House (OeSD) has been commissioned to produce state-of-the-art European travel documents (laissez-passer) for the European Union. The documents are used to provide representatives of the EU with the highest level of security documents.The laissez-passer documents offer the highest degree of protection against forgeries with a range of security features, such as modern chip technology and secure personalisation.In a statement, the Austrian State Printing House said was selected as prime contractor because of its top-quality approach and comprehensive turn-key concept."For this 9-years project OeSD works together with Vision-Box from Portugal and X-Infotech from Latvia. Together, they produce high-secure travel documents with complex security features, capture biometric data, personalise based on latest EU-standards and issue the laissez-passer from several locations in Europe. The successful development of high-security services and products by the Austrian State Printing House highlight the international leading role of it in the field of secure identity management".
