Global identity system integrator Arjo Systems has won Common Criteria EAL 4+ Certification by the French certification authority for its SOMA c003 chip operating system.The SOMA secure operating systems have for the past 10 years been serving numerous e-ID programs (Passports, Identity Cards, Resident Permits etc.) around the world.EAL4+ accreditation examines a product's design, security mechanisms, software development methodology and environment.Arjo Systems noted in a statement that SOMA c003 fully supports the newest Supplemental Access Control (SAC) set of security features, among the other standard International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) recommended security mechanisms.Introduced in the third generation of electronic passports, SAC has become mandatory for passports and resident permits issued by EU Member States since early 2015.
