Access-IS, part of HID Global, has announced the successful integration of its dedicated ID1 sized card scanner into the new OnMed Station, a unique, COVID safe medical consultation and pharmacy dispensing station. It is not uncommon to find solutions that allow patients to speak directly to a clinician or e-prescribe medication. However, the OnMed Station is the missing link in today's telemedicine and is a complete end-to-end solution that allows the user to speak to a clinician virtually without waiting. It allows the clinician to utilise multiple diagnostic tools such as a stethoscope, otoscope, blood pressure cuff, thermal camera and more. After receiving their diagnosis, the patient can receive a prescription directly from the Station's automated medical vault, which stocks hundreds of the most commonly prescribed non-scheduled medications, allowing the patients to be on their way in minutes. Once the patient leaves the OnMed Station, UV light automatically blasts the interior, killing off any germs or contagions, including COVID-19.Once the patient has entered the Station, they are required to present their insurance card, Government-issued ID, such as driver's license and/or medical card, which are then imaged by the Access-IS ADR100, ensuring that accurate records are taken and medication is dispensed. Although in this application the ADR100 is only imaging the credit card sized documents, it can be used to read document information from 1D/2D barcodes and supports reading of: all US federal and state issued ID cards, such as driver's licenses, photo IDs, voter IDs, social security cards, medical ID cards, immigration IDs and resident permits, all AAMVA North American, European and other national driving licences, all European and other national ID and e-ID cards and the EHIC (European Health Insurance Card). With key markets in healthcare systems, hospitals, transportation hubs, large employers, Universities, and Government entities, the OnMed Station allows medical services to be located precisely where and when they are needed.Ryan Brock, CTO at OnMed, said 'With the world focused on COVID-19, this is a significant step forward in addressing many of today's issues accessing healthcare. No appointment required giving immediate access to care, board-certified clinicians guarantee quality of care, cost of care can be less than half of a Primary Care or urgent care visit, the station guarantees cleanliness by blasted UV lighting and air purification between patients'. He continued 'the Access-IS scanner makes ID verification just as simple and safe as the rest of the patient experience'.
