A strategic collaboration has been agreed between TECH5 and Visa to embed payment functionalities and interoperable capabilities within digital wallet infrastructure worldwide. Harnessing their services in digital payments and biometric, digital identity technologies, the partnership looks to support the development of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) globally and the design of secure, interoperable, and scalable digital ecosystems.
The agreement, which spans an initial term of 7 years, was formalised in Dubai and United Arab Emirates.
Machiel van der Harst, Co-founder and CEO of TECH5 said the collaboration with Visa represents a “significant step in broadening the reach and applicability of TECH5’s DPI technologies”.
Together, they are positioned to address the “evolving needs of governments and institutions seeking secure and inclusive digital infrastructure”.
Visa’s Head of Government Solutions, CEMEA, Svyatoslav Senyuta said “secure, inclusive, and scalable digital identity” is core and transformational to the future payments landscape. As part of the partnership, Visa will provide significant support for TECH5’s business development initiatives, advise on engagement with financial institutions, and contribute funding toward joint projects. Equally, both companies will steer joint sales, business development and marketing strategy.
Visa said:
“Our partnership with TECH5 reflects our commitment to advancing Digital Public Infrastructure globally. By combining TECH5’s biometric and identity innovations with Visa’s trusted payment technologies, we aim to empower governments and institutions to drive financial inclusion and digital trust at scale.”
The partnership underscores both companies’ focus on fostering interoperability, trust, and inclusivity across digital ecosystems, while advancing solutions that can be adapted for diverse regulatory and market environments.
