Human interface solutions firm Synaptics has unveiled the first major deployment of its Natural ID fingerprint sensor solution, working with Sweden's Precise Biometrics on a new smartphone range launched by Alcatel.The partnership will bring the Natural ID fingerprint sensor technology solution to Alcatel smartphone customers in the U.S. and globally, with Precise Biometrics' mobile biometric algorithm, Precise Bio match mobile, providing the software.”We are pleased to have Synaptics as one of our fingerprint sensor suppliers whose wide range of solutions offer unique security features for Alcatel smartphone customers in the U.S. as well as our other global markets,” said Alain Lejeune, senior vice president and general manager of Worldwide Mobile Device, TCL Communication. “Synaptics' authentication performance is well recognized by the industry and fulfills TCL Communication's commitment to continuously providing consumers with an innovative and secured private mobile technology experience.””We very much value being a key fingerprint solution supplier to Alcatel smartphones, and we look forward to engaging on future projects with this innovative leader,” said Ritu Favre, senior vice president and general manager, Biometrics Product Division, Synaptics.Precise Biometrics said the integration will generate royalty revenue starting from the second quarter 2016.
