A Boston-based mobile identity startup called Voatz plans to tap into the emerging mobile voting marketing using biometrics and the blockchain as authentication.At a competition run by the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge 2016 Startup Spotlight, the firm was this week voted “Most Likely to Develop a Cult Following”.”Every great cult has at its focus an object of great power and mystical beauty that compels you to worship it. Voatz fits the bill with its unique mobile election voting platform, secured via smart biometrics, real time ID verification and the blockchain for irrefutability,” said Nimit Sawhney, Voatz CEO and co-founder. “Our congregation meets whenever your jurisdiction or organization needs a fast, accurate, convenient way to gauge public sentiment.”The company offers iris, fingerprint and voice as potential biometric solutions in its mobile voting platform.It also plans to integrate its solutions into blockchain technology.On its website, Voatz notes that it has pilots planned in Boston in the US, and Delhi and Chandigarh in India.
