West African country Sierra Leone has officially launched a new ePassport amid controversy over its cost.The new ePassport, which costs 500,000 Leones (US$107) was launched at the Immigration Offices in the capital, Freetown on 31 August.The official launch was attended by vice president Victor Bockarie Foh, who read a speech on behalf of President Koroma while launching the ePassport.Local NGO group the Coalition of Civil Societies had sought a government investigation into the price of the new ePassport, which previously cost just 100,000 Leones.
