South Korean tech firm Samsung has patented a design for biometric authentication to be implemented on a future version of their Gear Fit smartwatch.Revealed by Patently Apple, the design focuses on a biometric system for the wearable and a glasses device.It envisions a system whereby the Gear Fit may apply a “Condition of Biometric Information” before initiating a particular function.The website notes that “biometric information” may include, for example, at least one of information about a heart rate, an electrocardiography (ECG), a pulse, blood pressure, a temperature, an iris, sweat, eyes, an ultraviolet ray index, a retina, an artery, a vein, a skeleton, a face.The patent also shows how either temple or iris authentication may be used to authenticate IoT devices.
