A Norwegian police project that is responsible for delivering new border control functionality has launched a Request for information and loan of equipment for R&D purposes.In connection with the G3kko project from the "IDeALT" programme, the Politiets fellestjenester's (Police Directorate's) has announced it would like to borrow equipment components for reading / scanning of documents and fingerprints for development and test purposes."The goal is to increase the understanding of how the project can facilitate the broadest possible integration of fixed and mobile peripherals. Document readers will be used to validate the documents produced according to ICAO 9303 and must support terminal authentication and fingerprint readers must be certified in accordance with ANSI-NIST and FIPS 201-2."The National Police Directorate Norway established the "IDeALT" programme in autumn 2012 with the mandate to coordinate the Directorate's responsibilities within the ID area; ID issuance and passport, ID control on the border and territory, and technical and tactical identity crime.Pass and ID 2016 is a project within the "IDeALT" programme and conducting procurement(s) to support government decisions on national ID cards with eID and new enrolment system for passports.G3kko is a project within the "IDeALT" programme. The project is responsible for delivering new border control functionality. Initially (Q4 2015), the project will deliver border control programme with support for mobile devices and improved search functionality.
