England's Norfolk county has revealed plans to develop an identity assurance programme for new staff that's been developed by US firm Sailpoint.Norfolk county staff have said the identity management project will eventually be expanded to offer secure and efficient access to its services by the public, police and healthcare providers, reported government computing.The SailPoint solution has been devised as a means to validate information securely through the authority's internal HR system in order to initially ensure new council workers can correctly access services and information.Mark Crannage, the council's head of information management, told the management that as part of the authority's identity management efforts, 'federations' had been set up with other organisations that would support linking systems like the council's information hub to other organisations through SailPoint.
