NADRA (NTL) – India’s national identity authority – has agreed to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) partnership with a top-rated university in Pakistan which is spearheading research and the regeneration of biometric technologies. NUST will become research partners with NADRA and bridge connections between industry and academia to commit on goals for biometric applications.

One of the cutting-edge initiatives of NUST under the National Software Technology Park is the TrueID application. The partners, who met this week in-person at NADRA headquarters, will be looking to launch optimised services to Pakistani citizens that reflect the technological advances by the country. NADRA specialises in orchestrating and integrating digital identity systems, namely including its flagship Pakistan ID stack, with over 20 years experience fielding e-governance solutions, e-passport, smart identity cards, and civil registration.

Manifesting advanced identity technologies also takes the calibre and master track-record of NUST, one of the most prestigious computer science universities in Pakistan ranked within the first 160.

NTL expressed an interest to partner with NUST and synergise their knowledge through development initiatives in facial recognition technology. contactless biometrics, e-KYC, Digital Onboarding, Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), and Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) among others.
