MOSA Technology Solutions has been awarded several new FBI contracts valued at $750,000 to provide a variety of new biometric capture devices and solutions.The contracts related to MOSA sourcing biometric equipment for the FBI's Next Generation IAFIS (NGI) which replaced the original IAFIS System launched in July, 1999.NGI is the largest criminal fingerprint database in the world holding criminal histories for more than 70 million subjects, along with 34 million civil prints. Included in the database are fingerprints from 73,000 known and suspected terrorists processed by the U.S. or by international law enforcement agencies.”MOSA's ability to source the best of breed products and systems across the biometric identification industry, combined with our ability to customize and integrate the system, were driving factors behind FBI decision,” said Paul Frasca, President and CEO of MOSA Technology Solutions. “These new contracts demonstrates a rapidly growing confidence in our company's extensive experience in biometrics and our agility in sourcing and implementing the best solution to meet our customer's needs,” he added.Fingerprint hardware firm Integrated Biometrics has congratulated MOSA on the news, noting that a variety of new biometric capture devices and solutions incorporate the Watson Mini and Kojak fingerprint scanners from Integrated Biometrics.
