US healthcare network provider Kaiser Permanente has enabled a feature on its mobile app in Hawaii that allows people to use it as ID for appointments and pick up prescriptions."The new digital membership card is our latest effort to provide convenient, accessible healthcare that fits into today's on-the-go lifestyle," says Mary Ann Barnes, president of Kaiser Permanente Hawaii, reports Mobile Strategies 360.The latest mobile app upgrade will be rolled out to the entire Kaiser healthcare system, which includes 9.6 million health plan members, 177,445 employees, 17,791 physicians, 49,778 nurses, 38 medical centres and 620 medical offices.Kaiser has yet to set a timetable for a national rollout. "The program has just begun to roll out across the system so we're going to need a bit more time to gather enough information," says a Kaiser spokesman.
