FaceTec reported a number of high quality inquiries resulting from Identity Week America back in September, and it’s not hard to see why.
Delivering the highest-rated 3D face authentication, experts attending the show were seriously interested in not only learning how the UR codes worked but already knew how they wanted to implement it.
We sat down with Chief Identity Technology Strategist, Jay Meier, unpicking his observations on how the technology is rapidly gaining mainstream acknowledgement in the industry for securing digital identity by binding credentials to biometric data.
The surge of attacks exploiting valid credentials exposes a critical weakness in how identity is issued and verified today.
Meier emphasised that any trustworthy identity system must use data from a known, legal source (such as a government) and bind it biometrically to the individual from the moment it’s issued. This makes credentials far harder to steal or misuse.
Meier’s vision for the future of digital identity is one where a person’s identity data and their biometric verification are inseparable. By linking credentials directly to a person’s unique physical traits, the opportunities for credential fraud are significantly reduced, creating a more secure digital world for everyone.
How well is it going?
“We have a few commercial organisations that have signed agreements with us”.
“They wanted to get signed up as our partner early. These are very big companies, consulting firms and enterprise class software vendors.”
