An new analysis report on the iPhone 8 says that its 3D face recognition will match in “millionths of a second.”According to 9to5Mac, the report from the Korea Herald says that the “new facial recognition scanner with 3-D sensors can deeply sense a user's face in the millionths of a second.”There have been several reports that Apple is abandoning TouchID in the new iPhone, replacing it with face recognition for both unlock and Apple Pay authorization. Although there has been concern about the convenience in authorizing Apple Pay transactions, where the phone is usually held out to the payment terminal at an oblique angle, the system is said to allow face identification even when held flat.In addition, it's expected that the system will use infrared, so that it works in the dark and in low light.Guilherme Rambo, an iOS developer suggests that the 3D sensor in the iPhone can also enable user to silence notifications by merely looking at the display. This leads us to 3 possibilities- first the 3D sensor could be placed at the front, if the 3D Sensor could mute the notifications this means Apple could ditch its traditional physical button used for muting and lastly with 3D sensor there are chances that there would be no Touch ID in the iPhone 8.
