Slovakia-based biometric firm Innovatrics has jointly ranked first in accuracy in the recently published results of NiST's Proprietary Fingerprint Template Evaluation II (PFT II).The benchmark test conducted by NIST to measure the performance of fingerprint matching software. In a statement, Innovatrics said the 99.98% true match rate, together with the related equal error rates achieved by Innovatrics's algorithm, are the best results ever recorded during PFT evaluations. (TMR@FMR = 0.0001, POEBVA dataset, R/L index).”This unique combination of industry-leading accuracy and top-ranked speed underlines our belief that Innovatrics's algorithm is the most suitable solution for practical implementation and use with large-scale databases in Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) solutions,” explains Jan Lunter, CEO of Innovatrics.”Our aim has always been to have the fastest and most accurate AFIS solution in the world, and so we are very happy with the latest PFT II results that confirm our achievements,” continues Lunter. “The innovations we have developed over the past number of years have helped us to get ahead of the competition in this very competitive industry, and we intend to continue to lead the industry with future developments to our algorithm, solutions and overall proposition.”PFT II is part of an ongoing program to measure the performance of fingerprint matching software by utilizing vendor proprietary fingerprint templates. The test assesses the accuracy of end-stage matchers (the computationally expensive algorithms used in the very last stages of one-to-many AFIS searches).
