Biometrics experts, industry leaders and senior politicans are set to take part in the 10th annual West Virginia Identification Intelligence Expo this week, an annual programme that showcases the state's identification intelligence assets.Keynotes at the event include US senator Joe Manchin, Kari Bingen, deputy under secretary of intelligence with DoD, and the CTO of Leidos' Advanced Solutions Group. The event is designed for executives and agency officials in cybersecurity, forensics, biometrics and data analysis, to explore business partnerships, research synergies and investment opportunities in West Virginia.Exhibitors include Athena Sciences Corporation, Azimuth, the Defense Forensics Biometrics Agency (DoD), FBI CJIS, KeyLogic and ManTech International.The event will be held on 23 May at the Washington Court Hotel, in Washington, DC, from 6-8pm. There is an optional briefing at 5.15pm.During the briefing, West Virginia and Marshall University researchers/faculty will provide a brief presentation regarding on-going research and industry specific university programs and capabilities, including cybersecurity. The West Virginia Development Office will provide a brief look at the security sector in West Virginia as a whole, and TMC Technologies will speak to the capabilities of its company and work in the ID Intel sector.In you are interested in the event, see here for more details.
