The TAG/TRIP, an International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) body that consists of government and private sector experts, has through its New Technologies Working Group (NTWG), issued an RFI in order to keep abreast of new and improving technologies. TAG/TRIP issues an RFI every three years in order to keep abreast of such technologies.Following the receipt of summary sheets, descriptive literature and information, vendors will be invited to make oral presentations to government members of the New Technologies Working Group, representatives of ICAO Contracting States.Oral presentations are planned for 18-21 April 2017 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The RFI includes a request for information on "Smartphone-based and virtual identity systems".It seeks information on systems with the "capability to establish, present, verify and validate identification through the use and exchange of non-privacy data, i.e. without disclosing any personally identifiable information during the process of establishing, presenting, verifying and validating identities".The ICAO TRIP Programme is supported by the Technical Advisory Group on Traveller Identification Programme (TAG/TRIP, formerly TAG/MRTD), which is an advisory group appointed by the ICAO Secretary General. The TAG/TRIP exercises a dual function within the TRIP Programme, by establishing policy recommendations and proposals, and developing, establishing and maintaining TRIP standards and specifications. For more information, download these documents:The ICAO NTWG RFI 2016-2017The ICAO NTWG RFI 2016-2017 Instructions for Summary PaperThe ICAO NTWG RFI 2016-2017 Summary Paper
