The International Biometrics + Identity Association (IBIA) has welcomed four new members.The organisations and firms which have joined the association are the Center for Unified Biometrics and Sensors (CUBS), Behaviosec, Aware and NextgenID.The IBIA is an international trade group representing the identification technology industry.CUBS pursues research and development activities in machine learning through two strategic application areas.Meanwhile, Behaviosec uses machine learning and behavioral biometrics to stop fraud.Aware is a global provider of biometrics software products, services, and solutions.NextgenID is a provider of trusted identity assurance, management, and smart card credentialing solutions to State, Federal, DoD and Enterprise Commercial organisationsLast week, the IBIA released a white paper urging ride-sharing firms to accept biometric background checks, arguing that these are more secure than biographic checks.
