Secure identity solutions firm HID Global has launched a visual security solution designed to improve security for state and county government agencies, as well as universities, when creating and issuing personalised IDs.Known as vanGO, the solution involves cards that are hot-stamped with a special square metallic patch written with the cardholder's facial image just before being issued. The "One-2-One" security solution method uses a special laser writer module and the FARGO HDP8500 printer from HID Global.HID notes that more than 90 percent of inspections are still undertaken by the naked eye rather than an electronic reader in the field."Our focus is to develop creative yet pragmatic solutions that address the security concerns felt by today's many organizations, from college campuses to state agencies to global enterprises," said Craig Sandness, Vice President, Secure Issuance Business with HID Global."With this latest breakthrough in our visual security offerings, HID Global is enabling our customers to issue more advanced and secure ID cards than ever before, in the same easy-to-implement and cost-effective way that they have come to expect from us."
