GenKey has released the BioFinger SDK, a minutiae-based fingerprint matching technology designed for the election and health markets. The BioFinger matching algorithm has been evaluated by FVC-onGoing, which allows third parties to compare accuracy and speed of fingerprint SDKs from different vendors as evaluated by an independent organisation. According to GenKey, BioFinger 1.0 shows excellent performance results and a high ranking in the FVC-onGoing 1:1 benchmark in both the 'Standard' category, which reflects the accuracy in real-life large-scale fingerprint applications, and in the 'Hard' category, which challenges the SDKs with a relevant number of difficult cases, such as noisy images and distorted impressions."We are very pleased that our new BioFinger SDK achieved top-5 ranking in accuracy in the FVC-onGoing evaluation and we are especially proud of the accuracy results in the 'Hard' category," says Gavan Duffy, CTO of GenKey. Besides being highly accurate, the new release also makes the GenKey products more flexible and easier to deploy."As part of our strategy to invest in state-of-the-art biometric technology, I am pleased to see that BioFinger is now made available to our partners," says Michiel van der Veen, CEO of GenKey. "The outstanding performance, even on very difficult biometric subjects, is key to continuing to improve our offerings in the Election and Health markets, as well as to preparing us for the world-wide trend of mobile and embedded applications."
