Security firm Macate has revealed the Gardevant biometric credit card, stating that it is a solution for credit card fraud in online purchases.In a statement, the card makers said the Gardevant require a thumbprint authentication before any purchase.”Consumers face high risks when they make purchases online since there is no authentication process set in place,” said Issac Daniel, CEO of Gardevant. “But with our Gardevant Card, they are protected since every online purchase must also be authenticated with their fingerprint.”The card was launched at the Money 20/20 event in Las VegasEarlier this week, South Korean card firm Kona-i and US firm CPI Card Group announced the release of a fingerprint-enabled credit card featuring an FPC sensor.
