Swedish biometrics firms Fingerprint Cards and Precise Biometrics have revealed that their touch sensor and software solutions feature in a new LG smartphone and a Huawei 2-in-1 device.On Sunday at Mobile World Congress, LG announced their flagship smartphone model G5 features FPC's touch fingerprint sensor FPC1035.Jörgen Lantto, CEO of FPC, said: “LG is a leading global smartphone manufacturer and we are proud to provide FPC1035 to LG for G5, following the successful launch of V10 in 2015, also using FPC1035. FPC1035 supports 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality”.On the same day and at the same event, Huawei announced their new 2-in-1 device MateBook featuring FPC's touch fingerprint sensor FPC1145.Lantto said on this development: “Huawei is a leading global smartphone manufacturer and we are proud that Huawei selected FPC1145 for their new 2-in-1 device MateBook, following the successful launch of several successful smartphones with FPC touch fingerprint sensors. FPC1145 supports 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality”.Precise Biometrics has since reported that its Precise BioMatch Mobile solution was incorporated in these devices, although without confirming each exactly by name.”We are very pleased that this South Korean vendor has chosen to switch algorithm solution from a local supplier to Precise BioMatch Mobile.
