Swedish biometrics firm Fingerprint Cards and Precise Biometrics have coordinated on fingerprint sensor deployments for Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi's latest flagships, the Mi 5 and Mi 4s.The Mi5 will feature FPC's touch fingerprint sensor FPC1245.Jörgen Lantto, CEO of FPC, comments: “Xiaomi is a leading global smartphone manufacturer and we are proud that Xiaomi selected FPC1245 for Mi5, following the successful launch of Redmi Note 3 in 2015, using FPC1035. FPC1245 supports ceramic coating as well as 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality”.Meanwhile, the Mi 4S will feature FPC's touch fingerprint sensor FPC1035.Precise Biometrics has revealed that its product for fingerprint recognition in mobile devices, Precise BioMatch Mobile, has through cooperation with FPC been integrated in both smartphones.
