Owen McShane recently joined FaceTec, our Title Sponsor, last year as Vice President of Government Relations.
Having worked as York State DMV for over 30 years, he retired as a deputy commissioner in charge of investigations and highway safety, running the state’s facial recognition database for my past 15 years.
FaceTec has been around since 2013, very involved in Liveness detection for programmes around the world. One is Global Entry, and the U.S. visa program.
They will be able to answer questions like:
How has fraud changed over the past five years?
What are the trends and patterns?
We’re seeing types of fraud just multiply. What are the threats?
“So many government agencies had to pivot to provide services online and unfortunately, fraudsters took advantage of that. So in the United States, identity theft is now the number one consumer crime in the country”.
“And it’s grown by leaps and bounds and we’re seeing that worldwide as well”.
FaceTec offers 3D liveness to allow for remote verification of an individual to make sure they are who they say they are.
Unveiled last year was a new technology called UR codes that takes an individual’s biometric face template and allows you to scan the UR code and verify that person standing in front of you is that person.
FaceTec is the Title Sponsor of our upcoming edition, Identity Week America, 10-11 September in Washington DC. Don’t miss their multiple appearances.
