Card printer solutions firm Evolis has posted record sales of €38.6m (US$43m) in the first half of 2015, citing the performance of its channel business and excellent sales in its projects business.Overal Evolis has reported a net income of 4.7 million euros ($5.23 million) for the period versus 3.1 million euros a year ago (growth of 51.6 percent). The success was "driven by the performance of the Channel business and excellent sales of the Projects business, particularly in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) zone, helped by new contract with the Republic of Tanzania, and in the American zone where the Group continued the migration process of the US banking model", wrote Evolis Sales were equally buoyant at a constant exchange rate (up 24.2% to €34.7m), while the positive impact of the dollar added almost €4m in the first half. Printer sales, significantly up from previous half-year volumes, accounted for 56.3% of overall sales. The gross profit margin remained at a record 58% despite significant deliveries, helped by the impact of pooling printer production costs. In line with these results, the operating margin came to 18.4%, up 54% from the first half of 2014. Net profit also soared by 51.6%, i.e. a 1.1 point improvement of the net margin during the first six months of the year. Current figures, the continuous impact of the euro/dollar parity and a favourable year-end outlook have prompted management to raise the sales target for FY2015 to 25%, combined with historically high profit margins.
