Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Deputy Director Daniel Ragsdale unveil a major renovation of ICE Homeland Security Investigations' Forensic Laboratory on Wednesday.The new lab will become is “the premier resource for forensics, research, training, and law enforcement issues related to travel and identity documents” in the United States, noted the department in a statement.Additionally, the lab provides advanced forensic, intelligence, and investigative support to DHS and other U.S. and foreign law enforcement agencies, on a wide variety of criminal cases – including document fraud, gangs, drug trafficking, bulk cash smuggling, human smuggling, child exploitation and cybercrime.In a statement, the DHS noted that Johnson and Ragsdale will participate in a media availability and then lead a tour of the facility.
