German fingerprint specialists Dermalog have continued to outperform rivals in a benchmark test organised by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the company has revealed in a statement.In the current eight and 10 fingerprint tests in the Fingerprint Vendor Technology Evaluation (FpVTE), Dermalog is far ahead of its rivals, said the firm.”The system is capable of a throughput of 5,000,000 fingerprints per second. Hence, the speed proves up to be 10 times faster than most competitors and even 40% faster than its runner-up performance”, wrote the company.The German company adds that its database search is faster than any other system, and as a result needs up to ten times less hardware in comparison with competitors.Gunther Mull, the CEO of DERMALOG, underlined that the company has applications across different markets:”We have been and keep on revolutionizing biometric security products for law enforcement, civil governmental agencies like national registration, voter and driver registrations, health agencies, security agencies and develop solutions for access and data security, authorization and authentication services as well as mobile security.”
