More visa application facilities – to work or study in Canada – have opened up in Mexico City, where Mexican nationals have their biometrics collected as part of the process.
Whilst expanding biometric collection, applicants will still be able to access services at existing centres. Four of the new collection points are in metropolitan areas and will streamline the experience for Mexican nationals providing biometrics as well as support tourism between the two countries. With increasing interest from asylum seekers to travel to Canada, the country reinstated visa requirements for Mexican nationals in February.
The new locations in Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara, Mexico – which are managed by government-approved private companies – will open at the end of May serving biometrics collection services only. The range of services will expand to include transmitting and tracking passports over time.
