Australian firm Azonto Petroleum has acquired Israeli smart gun company Clipfort for $28.1 million.Clipfort, based in Kfar Saba, were founded in 2013 by CEO Daniel Biran, CDO Omer Kotzer, CFO Tsachi Cohen, and Eyal Artsiely.The company develops guns featuring fingerprint authentication to ensure guns safety and prevent theft.According to the sale document, Clipfort owns intellectual property relating to GoSafeIDMag, a fingerprint-activated gun magazine.The documents add that it can be fitted to popular handguns and rifles without modifications.Clipfort's business plan is initially focused on the US civilian market, which involves around 5 million sales a year.
