Australia's Suncorp has become the latest financial institution to add a fingerprint login capability using Apple's TouchID to its mobile banking application.Suncorp's digital banking manager, Simon Clarke, said 40 per cent of the bank's iOS customers already have a fingerprint-ready device and are looking for more streamlined options to manage their money.”We have seen a 73 per cent increase in mobile banking activity over the past 12 months, with more than 90 million self-service transactions performed via our mobile app,” said Clarke.In January, Australian bank Westpac launched a fingerprint-enabled iOS app for iPhone 5 and 6 users.In the US, Providence-based Citizens Financial Group Inc. incorporated fingerprint identification in its mobile banking app for some ­iPhone users last month, while Fidelity Investments, headquartered in Boston, started earlier this year letting customers use their fingers to log in and pay bills and make trades.”Finally,” one Twitter user told Citizens Financial Group Inc after it announced that fingerprint access was available. “Now I don't have to type in my stupid password anymore.”
