American Express Australia's director of digital commerce has confirmed that the Samsung Pay biometric mobile payment service will launch “very soon” in the country.Rob Bourne said that consumers want more mobile options than “just Apple Pay,” he told ZDNet.”Our view is very simple, we want to give our customers the choice of how they want to pay … we want to give them that choice and flexibility.”He added that American Express is impressed with the progress made in mobile payments.”We really like the Samsung Pay experience – because it's the hardware manufacturers that are getting into payments it allows for that really frictionless experience,” he said.
