We interviewed Andy Smith, Director of Industry Bodies and Innovation at SITA about the significance of digital identities for the ability of airlines and governments to understand the migration of passengers through the global travel ecosystem at all times.
We discuss significant collaborations in SITA’s early days with the Australian government where they created the world’s first electronic travel authorisation, now a routine requirement for travel, and other milestones such as embarking on the digitalisation of passports a decade ago and working with the US government on their biometric boarding programme.
