The telecoms and insurance sectors have partnered to create a single digital identity for unified access across different companies.
Telefonica Tech is strengthening cybersecurity with digital identity, as well as offering services for cloud IoT, big data and blockchain. The company has now positioned itself as a leading operator of complex digital IDs in highly regulated sectors, such as insurance.
Back in 2023, they participated in a major European trial along with other mobile operators to develop digital IDs for citizens.
Working alongside the insurance sector’s technology hub, Telefónica Tech is designing a platform that will enable external partners in the insurance sector to manage access to digital services under a secured, self-sovereign identity model.
