Namirial has become one of the earliest European firms to obtain certification under the strengthened identity verification requirements introduced by the EU’s eIDAS 2 Regulation. The company confirmed that its Namirial Onboarding suite has been assessed and certified as compliant with Article 24 and the ETSI TS 119 461 v2.1.1 standard; requirements that will become compulsory across the EU beginning in May 2026.

The certified platform enables fully digital customer identification, drawing on video recognition, biometric checks, and remote electronic signatures. Supported by AI and integrations with national digital IDs such as SPID and CIE, the system is designed to reduce errors, operational workloads, and onboarding times.

The certification also covers the suite’s capacity to integrate Europe’s various national digital identity systems including European Digital Identity Wallets. Namirial’s own wallet is built for the latest technical specifications of eIDAS.

The EU is preparing to implement significantly higher security standards for remote identity verification under eIDAS 2 to issue qualified electronic signatures or qualified certificates. All providers are expected to be compliant from May 2026.

“With the new regulations coming into force, we are already fully prepared to support our customers with identity-proofing solutions that are fully compliant and future-proof”, said Max Pellegrini, Chief Executive Officer of Namirial.

The company previously achieved certification from the French cybersecurity agency ANSSI for remote identity verification.

For customers, the certification ensures immediate access to compliant identity verification methods including, NFC-based checks on passports and electronic identity cards, and national digital identity systems such as SPID, CIE, German ID, and ID Austria.

Namirial notes that its Onboarding suite has been engineered not only for eIDAS 2 compliance but also for alignment with other regulatory frameworks.
