Lissi has announced joining the bank-account-opening use case in the large-scale Potential of the EU Digital Identity Wallet project.
Lissi presented its wallet and connector API software to payments representatives in the pilot, as one of 8 remaining teams focused on the development of a German EUDI-wallet prototype.
The prototype wallet is available in 13 languages and is actively involved in interop-testing with other applications, as part of the European Commission’s vision for fully operative, cross-border wallets. Further use cases being explored in the large scale pilots are SIM-card registration, mobile driving licenses, access to government services, electronic prescriptions and e-signatures.
The first phase of the SPRIND Funke Wallet Challenge, focused on the German prototype, was completed in September 2024 the issuance and verification of person identification data (PID). Lissi came onboard with the bank account use case to enable harmonised payment authentication and KYC processes for financial institutions, given the company also participates in the payment taskforce of the European Wallet consortium, another EU large scale pilot.
Lissi, a software company initially incubated at Commerzbank, offers financial institutions the integration of the EUDI-Wallet into their IT-infrastructure. The company actively participated in the development of the technical protocols of the EUDI-Wallet in the past. As such, the appointment of Lissi as a system connector with the German EUDI-Wallet prototype seems a suitable fit as they understand the key details for offering interoperability among use case integrations.
