LinkedIn has wanted to increase verified users on its platform and has previously said they are open to “new methods of verification” such as government-issued ID, a selfie or passkeys authenticated through their third-party services.

LinkedIn has announced growing 100 million verified members on par with its expanding community.

Now, self-serve API supports a safer internet allowing LinkedIn as well as other organisations to integrate verification. Achieving a goal set two years ago, LinkedIn will continue funnelling investment into the ambition of getting everyone to choose at least one method of verification on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn has 700 million users on LinkedIn who can already set up identity verification to protect their profiles.

Why does LinkedIn need user verification?

Whilst the most social verification happens on LinkedIn of all networks, LinkedIn is taking a further step to drive their identity marketplace for users and help integrate trust tools for organisations. Verification helps to boost up to 60% more profiles and 50% more engagement.

Zoom is also a partner of Verified on LinkedIn which launched earlier this year, giving the trust stamp to businesses through verified identities, joining Adobe, G2, UserTesting and TrustRadius, Furnished Finder, User Interviews, and PeerSpot.
