Designing optical security features for government documents, we were joined by John Peters, Head of New Business at OVD Kinegram AG to discuss their proprietary technology leveraging secret processors.
The non holographic techniques are “not in the public domain” and hence “out of reach of the counterfeiters”.
Kinegram is evolving the approach to protecting the photograph and the biographic data on the data page by embossing discrete individual elements distributed across the data page.
Equally without obscuring their view, the bees in Kinegram’s design integrate with a combination of other security features to “tell a story” and defy counterfeiters’ attempts.
See Kinegram’s bee security design as described by John Peters in this interview. Kinegram demonstrated further development in this direction showcasing Kinegram FDP, which is used to create these integrated designs, at Identity Week America.
OVD Kinegram AG, a Swiss subsidiary of the German KURZ Group, is also a silver sponsor at Identity Week Asia, 22-23 October.
