Indonesia is developing INA Pass, a single gateway for citizens to access all public services through one login. Set to launch in September, INA Pass will streamline the process by integrating citizens’ digital identities with the government’s application programming interface (API) system, allowing users to access various government services without repeatedly entering data.
Muwasiq M Noor, Peruri’s Advisor for Digital Government, explained that INA Pass will integrate citizens’ digital identities, making it easier to access government services. Currently, citizens must use separate applications for different services, such as ID cards, passports, and driving licenses. INA Pass will eliminate this inefficiency by providing a single sign-on solution.
The registration process for INA Pass involves users entering their full name, ID number, and other details. The system will use face recognition and liveness detection for know-your-customer (KYC) verification to ensure data security.
INA Pass will also support civil servants by providing access to administrative services like promotion and training applications. In the future, the platform may integrate with vital public services such as transport and financial transactions.
INA Digital, the government’s technological unit, will collaborate with the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registry to run INA Pass. Dukcapil’s Director-General, Teguh Setyabudi, noted that INA Pass is an extension of the existing Digital ID platform, IKD.
Integrating the Ministry of Health’s SATUSEHAT service with IKD will enable 108 million SATUSEHAT users to activate their digital identities immediately.
