As we gear up to Identity Week Europe 2025, we look back at one of our interviews with Almir Badnjevic from the Agency for Identification Documents, Registers, and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia has pursued digital innovation managing a set of essential services, from electronic certificates to electronic signatures for identification documents to become one of the leading nations in Europe for digital identity. The registry not only maintains identity documents, but revolutionises how they are accessed and exchanges data to government institutions through their own secure network. The agency has no direct contact with citizens while working with authorities who are using their communication service to interact with citizens and collect data.
